Health care

Our friendly, qualified care workers offer a wide range of care services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in your own home. If the patient needs help at night, the caregiver is always there. Each client has a care team of two people available, who take turns at two-week intervals.

Housekeeping

The caregiver can practically help with all household chores. Whether it be cooking, grocery shopping, doing and hanging laundry, ironing, hoovering, wiping the dust, cleaning the house floors, our care workers can assist with everyday tasks.
Gardening chores are also negotiable upon individual request.

Recruitment

The agency works in synergy with clients to better understand their requirements and find the most suitable candidates for their specific needs. The care workers we usually recruit are in the age group - from 23 to 60 years old. We offer three different types of care personnel.

Each client has a care team of two people available, who take turns at two-week intervals. We can provide assistance with daily living – for example, getting out of bed, getting dressed, daily hygiene like going to the toilet, having a bath, shaving, hair washing, changing adult diapers. Our caregivers are also able to prepare and serve food. The administration of medication is one of the major responsibilities of our skilled workforce. The caregiver also communicates with GP and -/- or other medical personnel, and family members, and follows their specific instructions for care.

Gardening chores are also negotiable upon individual request.

If the patient happens to share the same household with other family members and these consider using housekeeping services provided by our caregivers as well, it will be negotiable upon request.

Transport

The transport of our care workers to and from their work destinations is organized entirely by the agency. We work with experienced drivers only. The agency also runs a full check-up on their driving records. Once every two weeks our driver takes the caregiver from Slovakia directly to the client‘s home, and, at the same time, picks up the caregiver whose turn is just over and drives her/him back to Slovakia. Our regular changeover days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The regular changeover times are normally set between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.. The changeover times are generally fixed, but if necessary, we will be as flexible as we can about the start day and time of the client’s care. Everything can be negotiated individually.

Recruitment

The agency works in synergy with clients to better understand their requirements and find the most suitable candidates for their specific needs. The care workers we usually recruit are in the age group - from 23 to 60 years old. We offer three different types of care personnel. The majority are female caregivers, but we also provide certified nurses with many years of experience and male caregivers.

The level of fluency in German language of every recruited care worker is tested individually. All our caregivers are registered with the agency. Our representative phones the family, the recruited caregiver would work for, usually one day before the caregiver’s arrival, and let them know all important information about the person they hired.

The basic rule in our agency is that every person willing to get registered with us has to come to our office in Slovakia. We recruit only people who we have previously met in person. We recruit only people whose level of fluency in German complies with our required standards. The agency also thoroughly checks the work experience of recruited care personnel before we start looking for a placement with a patient or family in Austria.

Public holidays

The agency can secure nonstop care of the patient regardless of Austrian and Slovak public holidays.

It means that our care workers are also available on the following days: Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, Easter, summer and winter holidays, and all other public holidays.

Although the caregivers get their regular salary negotiated beforehand, they would certainly enjoy any little extra courtesy in the form of Christmas bonus (or adequate tip) from you.

Registration

The caregivers must obtain a trade licence at the place they work, i.e. the place where the client lives. It is possible to apply for the trade licence at the authority called Wirtschaftskammer (WKO), which is the Austrian equivalent for the Chamber of Commerce. The first registration (so-called Neugründer) is free of charge.

If the caregivers have already obtained a valid trade licence at the place of their permanent residence, they are required to:

    • Register the place of their secondary residence (with a certificate of registration) at the local or municipal authorities.
    • Apply for trade licence relocation
    • in person
    • in writing (you can find the necessary form on our website www.agenturpolly.sk)
    • by phone
    • by e-mail

If the caregivers do not have a trade licence at all, they are required to:

  • Register the place of their secondary residence (with a certificate of registration) at the local or municipal authorities.
  • Apply for the trade licence at the authority called Wirtschaftskammer (WKO) and register their trade.

What documents do the caregivers need for registration?

  • a valid identity card or passport,
  • a certificate of registration (from the address of their secondary residence where they work),
  • a recent criminal record extract which may not be older than 3 months, and must be translated into German language.

Financial claim

The patients dependent on care, are under domestic law, entitled to a financial support, provided that they meet following requirements:

  • around the clock health care,
  • level of care is 3 and above,
  • the monthly net income (only pension without care allowance) does not exceed € 2,500.

Patients can claim €550 per month for two registered caregivers.

Patients are entitled to half of the amoun, i.e. € 275 per month if they have only one registered caregiver. Families can only apply for financial support if their caregivers are registered as self-employed care workers with a free trade licence. It is not possible to claim financial support if the caregivers are not registered.

Entitled patients can apply for financial support nationwide by Federal Social Welfare Offices (Bundessozialamt). Please, refer to our website www.agenturpolly.sk for required forms and Federal Social Welfare Office contacts in Austria.

The social security contribution is up to €181.12 per month for each care worker (Neugründer).

This amount is to be paid directly to the caregiver by the patient after the end of the caregiver’s work shift interval which usually lasts 2 weeks.
